The central government had approved 100 percent FDI in single brand retail in 2014 itself. This was followed by foreign retail companies such as Ikea and Naik entering the Indian market. Now, approval of 100 percent FDI approved Automatic Route in single-brand retail means that foreign companies will not have to go through the clearing process and now it is easy for them to invest in India. It is believed that many of the foreign retail companies can come to India from this decision of the central government.
